Mangaluru: A one-day CME (Continued Medical Education) on Ultrasound in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care and workshop on Trans-Thoracic Echo (TTE) and Trans-Esophageal Echo (TEE), Lung and Vascular ultrasound and Airway ultrasound was organized by the Department of Anaesthesia, Yenepoya Medical College, Deralakatte, Mangaluru.
This workshop was unique in that it had hands-on training for all the delegates at the state-of-the-art Simulation lab at YMCH.
Dr.T.A Patil, consultant cardiac anaesthetist, Fortis hospital, Bengaluru, was the chief guest of the programme. Dr Venkatagiri. K.M, president elect, ISA National, (Indian Society of Anaesthesia) presided over the event. Dr M.S. Moosabba, Principal, Yenepoya Medical College and Dr. S Padmanabha, Medical Superintendent, Yenepoya Medical College and Hospital, Deralakatte, Mangaluru were the guests of honour.
The programme was inaugurated by the dignitarioes by lighting of the traditional lamp.
Dr Harish Hegde, Head of the Department, Anaesthesia, welcomed the guests and emphasized the use of ultrasound guided procedures in modern anaesthesia practice for its safety profile and portability.
Earlier, Dr Mumtaz led the prayer.
Dr Shimar (Assistant Professor) delivered the vote of thanks. Dr Monisha and Dr Anjana (Post graduates of Anaesthesia, YMCH) compered the programme.
About 100 delegates from many of the neighboring medical colleges from Dakshina Kannada, Madikeri participated in the CME plus Workshop and it was well received by them.
