A van was completely destroyed by a fire near Kana Katla in the Surathkal region on Tuesday morning at around 11 am. The vehicle, parked close to an anganwadi and several other buildings, caused alarm among local residents. Quick action was taken by nearby individuals to douse the flames, and the fire brigade was alerted without delay. Despite their efforts, the fire spread rapidly, consuming the entire van. Precautionary measures were put in place to prevent the fire from reaching nearby structures.

The van, registered in the name of Shweta, was a 2015 model and had been parked in the same spot for three days prior to the incident. The exact cause of the fire remains unclear, leaving the local community puzzled.

This fire incident is part of a troubling trend, with similar vehicle fires reported recently in areas like NITK, Adyar, and Kadri, heightening concerns among vehicle owners in the region.
