8-year-old girl electrocuted by live wire at school in Karwar

In a heart-wrenching incident, 8-year-old Sanvi Basavaraj Gowli lost her life after coming in contact with a fallen live wire while heading to the toilet at a government primary school in Mundavad village, Haliyal taluk, Uttara Kannada district, on Thursday.
The wire, linked to a borewell near the toilet, had fallen unnoticed. Sanvi tragically came into contact with it and died on the spot. Officials, including Tahsildar Praveen Huchchannavar and Circle Inspector Jayavanth Patil, visited the scene. Her body was moved to the Haliyal government hospital.
MLA R.V. Deshpande met with the grieving family, urging them to pursue legal action and promising accountability for the lapse.
