Kasargod: Special checking squad has seized Rs 20 lakh from a commuter as he could not produce required documents at Talapady check post here.
The man has been identified as Mohammed Kunhi from Alampady. He was traveling in KSRTC bus where the officers have been checking commuters as it is highly likely that people could smuggle cash, liquor, and such other items to Kerala as it is election time in Kerala.
Due to elections in Kerala, there has been intensive checking at the border and nearby areas. Several departments including police and excise have formed a special squad for the purpose.
