Accident in Bhatkal: Bike Rider Killed, Another Injured in Car Collision

Bhatkal, June 17: A tragic incident occurred on Sunday night at Shirali NH 66, under the jurisdiction of Bhatkal rural police station, resulting in the death of a bike rider and injuries to another.

Incident Details

A car traveling from Murdeshwar to Bhatkal collided with a bike heading from Kaikini to Shirali Alvekodi. The bike rider, identified as Ramchandra Nagesh Moger (42), sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Manipal for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Later, the same car collided with another bike, causing injuries to the riders. The car driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle near Venktapur. The riders of the second bike sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Police Action

A case has been registered at the Bhatkal rural police station, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing driver responsible for the accident.
