Amrita Joshi Embarks on Epic Bike Journey from Mangaluru to Bhutan
Bike lovers always strive to elevate their passion for riding. A 24-year-old girl from Kumble in Kerala’s Kasargod district is one such enthusiast. Amrita Joshi, a young woman biker, is gearing up for her first international trip from Mangaluru to Bhutan on her KTM 220 bike.
Amrita will start her journey from Mangaluru, traveling through Bengaluru, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Meghalaya. Her route will also take her through the North Eastern states, including Assam, covering a total of ten states. Accompanied by her group, she will travel 10,000 kilometers. During this journey, she aims to understand the customs and cultures of different cities and spend time with local people. Her objective is to empower women and demonstrate that bike riding is not exclusively a male activity.
Amrita has previously completed an all-India bike ride, including trips to Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Nepal. She learned to ride a bike in the sixth grade and has participated in the All Kerala Group Tour. An international trip to Bhutan on a bike is a significant achievement, showcasing her determination and skill. Amrita Joshi, daughter of Dr. Ashok Joshi of Kumble and Annapurna, has completed her Diploma in Polymer Science at KPT, Mangaluru.
It is not the first time a Mangalorean has embarked on an extensive bike journey. In 2020, Muhammed Saleem, a resident of Ullal, completed a solo ride in 39 days, covering 12,635 km and visiting over 100 cities, including challenging Himalayan stretches, on his Royal Enfield Classic 350. He started his journey on January 8 and returned on February 15.
