Three Arrested in Mangalore for MDMA Trafficking
Mangalore: The Mangalore Central Crime Branch (CCB) Police have arrested three individuals and seized 42 grams of MDMA, a banned drug. The accused were allegedly involved in transporting and selling the drug from Bengaluru to Mangalore.
The arrested individuals are Shajahan PM (32), Mohammad Nishad (27), and Mansoor MM (27). They were found in possession of the drugs, a significant amount of cash, mobile phones, a car, and other paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking.
The CCB conducted the operation after receiving information about the sale of narcotics to students and the public in the Mangalore region. The seized property has an estimated value of ₹12.18 lakh.
Police believe that the accused were part of a larger drug trafficking network and are actively searching for additional suspects. One of the arrested individuals, Shajahan PM, has a history of drug-related offences, with seven cases registered against him in Kasaragod district.
The arrest highlights the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in combating drug trafficking in India. The seized MDMA, a highly addictive substance, poses a significant threat to public health and safety.
