Bail Pleas of Actors Darshan and Pavithra Gowda Rejected in Renukaswamy Murder Case
A Sessions Court in Bengaluru on Monday denied the bail requests of actors Darshan Thoogudeepa and Pavithra Gowda in the Renukaswamy murder case. While two of the six accused, Ravishankar and Deepak, were granted bail, the pleas of Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, Nagaraj, and Lakshman were rejected.
Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old fan of actor Darshan, was brutally murdered after making derogatory comments about Pavithra Gowda on social media. The police chargesheet alleges that Pavithra instigated Darshan and others to kill Renukaswamy after he sent her obscene messages.
Renukaswamy’s body was discovered near the Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru on June 9, bearing multiple bruises, a missing ear, and ruptured testicles. The post-mortem revealed that he was attacked with wooden clubs and died from shock and hemorrhage due to blunt injuries. Actor Darshan and 15 others were arrested in connection with the murder on June 11.
