10 States To Be Vigilant About Rising Covid Cases Union Health Ministry

Bengaluru: The rate of Covid positivity has climbed to 10 per cent in 46 districts across ten states, including Karnataka. In 35 other districts, the rate is between 5 and 10 per cent.

The Union Health Ministry informed the 10 states to be vigil about the rising number of Covid cases.

For the last five days, more than 20,000 cases have been reported in Kerala. According to the union health ministry’s warning, this will put Karnataka in risk as well.

In the hotspot list provided by the union health ministry other states includes Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Orissa, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Manipur.

The union health ministry has issued guidelines on containment of the virus, stating that unnecessary mobility of people, mass gatherings, and large functions should be prohibited. Secondary contacts, quarantined individuals should be closely examined. It has also urged to increase testing and Sero survey should be used to identify district-level statistics on infection spread.
