6 more contacts of migrant worker, 5 others test positive for corona; Tally now 474

corona test 24042020Bengaluru: As many as 11 more COVID-19 cases were reported from the state on Friday, April 24 evening. This brings the state’s total up to 474 confirmed cases.

Of the 11 new cases reported since 12 PM today, six (all of whom are men from Bengaluru Urban) are contacts of Patient 419, the migrant labourer. Two more cases reported from Bengaluru, a 45-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man, are patients with severe acute respiratory illness.

Meanwhile, one case, a 60-year-old man who is a contact of Patient 179, has been reported from Malavalli in Mandya.

Vijayapura and Mudhol (in Bagalkot) have both reported one case each. The patient from Vijayapur is a 27-year-old man and is a contact of Patient 221. The patient from Bagalkot is a 14-year-old boy and is a contact of Patient 380.

Of the 474 cases, 18 are deaths and 152 are discharges.
