The Aam Aadmi Party, which spearheaded the anti-corruption movement and came to power in Delhi twice, has decided to stay out of the BBMP polls. Several AAP leaders who wished to contest in the election decided to contest as independent candidates without using a party logo.
Kejriwal had directed AAP leaders not to contest in the election which has saddened many local leaders. Several leaders had decided to contest in the election and also had planned different ways for voting campaign. Local AAP leaders were prepared for the election and had hopes to win as AAP did in New Delhi.
H D Devegowda who observed all these developments, wrote a letter to Arvind Kejriwal stating that both the parties are fighting against corruption. So he asked AAP to support JDS. However AAP Central committee has rejected JDS’ appeal.
