Bengaluru: Several senior BJP leaders, including party state unit President Nalin Kumar Kateel downplayed the statement made by party Vijayapura MLA Basanagauda Patil Yatnal that CM BS Yediyurappa will be replaced soon.
"BSY will complete his term. There is no question of change in the state leadership," said Kateel adding that the BJP will face next election too under the leadership of BS Yediyurappa.
He also stated that the party will consider initiating action against Yatnal for his baseless, irresponsible statement.
Ministers including Basavaraj Bommai, ST Somasekar and V Somanna also rejected the claims made by Yatnal and stated that BSY will be the party's face in the upcoming election also.
It may be recalled that Yatnal made a shocking statement a couple of days ago mentioning that most of the MLAs, specifically the legislators from the northern region of Karnataka are unhappy with the CM and hence he will not remain in that post for long.
