Bengaluru: A leaked audio clip which was circulated widely on social media after 9.30 pm on Sunday July 18 created a storm in political circles. In the clip, BJP State Unit President Nalin Kumar Kateel is found saying that a person from Delhi will come to the State as CM.
However, Kateel issued a media statement around 11.20 pm saying that it is a fake audio clip. He also informed that he will appeal to Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa to order for an investigation.
This audio clip is in Tulu language.
In the audio clip, a voice similar to Kateel is found saying both K. S. Eshwarappa and Jagadish Shettar team will be kicked out of the cabinet. “Those who are close to us will become CM,” he said.
The audio clip created a storm in the BJP state unit with several leaders rushing to CM’s residence in the night to discuss the issue.
According to the sources, BJP high command has asked CM B. S. Yediyurappa to step down after July 26 and the State is likely to get a new CM in the auspicious month of Shravana. This audio clip has added fuel to the fire.
Meanwhile, BJP State General Secretary N. Ravi Kumar made it clear that this audio clip is fake and an investigation will be launched on the makers of clip.
As the latest development, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Rajesh Naik, Umanath Kotian, Sanjeev Matandoor, Harish Poonja and District president Sudarshan made a complaint to Mangaluru police commissioner N. Shashikumar that the audio clip is fake and needed investigation has to be undertaken in the matter. He also requested the culprits should be arrested as early as possible.
