Bengaluru: Congress leader Varalakshmi Gundu Rao, wife of former CM late Gundu Rao passed away after battling with Covid-19.
She is survived by two sons, including Congress leader, former minister Dinesh Gundurao.
She had contested the 1996 lok sabha election from Bengaluru south and was defeated.
Her daughter in-law Tabu Rao made an emotional Facebook post on her mother in-law.
“Our strength, our guiding light always.. you really fought hard but covid took the better of you ! Your class , your pride for your son and your last day of spending time with your family will always leave the greatest memory .
RIP Amma … you will always be in our hearts,” she posted.
Several senior leaders are rushing to Dinesh Gundurao’s home at Gandhinagar of the city to offer condolences.
