Bengaluru: Following rampant complaints over the allotment of 25 percent of the seats in private unaided schools through the provisions of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has decided to launch separate helpline and contact email IDs.
According to the officials, students and parents can approach the local Block Education Officers (BEOs) or DDPIs at district level for grievance redressal. Alternatively they can also contact rtektk@gmail.com or prydirector.edu.sgkar@nic.in.
DPI has also set up a toll free number 180042534567 to enable the parents to find solution to their problems easily.
It may be recalled that April 15 was the last date for submission of applications. Seats were allocated through online lottery system on April 28. Across the state 1.29 lakh free seats were available for RTE students for selection in various schools.
DPI had received 2.10 lakh applications seeking seats.
