Bengaluru: A day after Gangavati rural police arrested young poet Siraj Bisaralli and editor of a web portal Raja Bhakshi for reciting and sharing an anti CAA poem, former CM HD Kumaraswamy challenged the police to arrest him for reciting the same poem.
The former CM recited the poem penned dow by Bisarahalli on the floor of the house and dared the police to arrest him.
Participating in the house proceedings, he raised the issue of how the poet and the editor were nabbed and while reciting the entire poem, he asked the house what was wrong in the pome?
“There is nothing wrong in this. When poet Nissar Ahmed wrote Kurigalu Saar Kurigalu, who was he referring to? Was he not refering to politicians like us? Was he arrested? Hadige had also written a poem and there was a big discussion on it,” he said taking a dig at the police on Bidar sedition case as well.
He charged the government for misusing the anti-sedition laws.
Meanwhile, both Siraj Bisaralli and Raja Bhakshi have been granted bail by a local court in Gangavati and have been released on Thursday evening.
In Bengaluru like-minded organisations held a protest against the state government for targeting the poets.
