Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has written a letter to CM BS Yediyurappa and Governor Vajubhai Vala to ensure proper representation to the scholars from the socially weaker sections while selecting new VCs for the state universities.
In his letter, he stated that even though the state is running 25 universities, in only one university a SC scholar is serving as the VC.
“There is an urgent need to correct this mistake,” he stated.
He also stated that while filling up of constitutional posts like KPSC, etc, the government shall ensure social justice.
