Bengaluru: The CCB sleuths raided the residence of underworld don turned social activist Late Muthappa Rai and detained his son Rikki Rai.
Though an officials confirmed in this regard is awaited, sources say that the raid happened as a part of the ongoing probe into the drug scandal in the state.
As per sources, Rikki had links with Aditya Alva, brother in-law of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi. Rai also had contacts with a few other accused in the drug case and had also helped one of the accused.
The development comes as a shocker because Muthappa Rai had, time and again said that he has reformed himself and none in his family too are involved in any kind of illegal activity.
Muttappa Rai succumbed to cancer on May 15, this year.
According to the sources, CCB team led by ACP Venugopal picked Rikki from his residence in Sadashivanagar and took him to his residence in Bidadi.
According to the sources, CCB police had received a search warrant on Monday itself to raid on late Rai’s house.
