Bengaluru: KPCC president DK Shivakumar has made serious allegations against the government that it is selling government privileges to the private sector.

Speaking at a press conference, he said that the government should call a meeting to discuss the problems of transport workers. We are asking the government to speak to workers on strike and negotiate to solve their problems but the government is speaking of handing it over to the private sector, he said. “This is a conspiracy to sell KSRTC, BMTC to the private sector.” All the government companies are sold by the NDA government already and now, they are planning to privatise KSRTC, he added.

“They are arresting those who are protesting. Why would anyone not fight at all in such a situation? Congress will stand on behalf of those who have fought so far,” he said.  He asked the government to meet the demand of the transport employees immediately.
