Bengaluru: Heavy rains across the state disrupted normal life across the state, and farmers witnessed a huge loss to their harvested crop.
According to the IMD data, the untimely rains across the state is caused by the easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal and will continue for a few more days.
Farmers from Shivamogga, Chikkamagalur, Davanagere, and Haveri are the worst-hit regions where the harvested paddy and coffee beans were washed-away in floodwater.
There were reports of floodwater entering in the houses in the low lying areas from many places in Dharwad. Due to the rains, the minimum temperature has fallen in all the districts.
Rains are expected to continue for three more days and are a cause for worry among the farmers.
