Bengaluru: Heavy rain disrupts normal life across malnad and coastal karnataka region of the State. According to the Indian Meteorological Department forecast, heavy rains are expected to continue till this weekend.
The worst affected districts are Shivamogga, Chikkamagalur Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Chikkamagalur districts. In Kodagu district minor landslides have been reported from two places in the city. Power supply disrupted across the district. Sources also states that water is being released from Harangi district.
In Shivamogga also, normal life has been thrown out of gear due to the rainfall. Hosanagar, and Tirtahalli taluks are witnessing a heavy rainfall. In Chikkamagalur, the situation is same.
South Karnataka districts like Bengaluru and Mysuru are also receiving moderate rainfall since Wednesday evening. Cloudy weather reported from across the South Karnataka.
Inflow to all the major dams of the state including KRS and Alamatti dams built across the rivers Cauvery and Krishna respectively increased substantially in the last two days.
