Bengaluru: Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research in the city will carry out research on whether booster third dose of Covid 19 vaccine will give enhanced protection for the people.
According to Dr. CN Manjunath, director of the institute, the research will be carried out on those who took two doses of Covid vaccine.
The research will begin on those subjects who have taken both the doses. “60 days after taking both the doses, the subjects will be tested for the antibodies developed in the body,” he explained.
It can be recalled that many states including Karnataka have reached out to central government whether third booster dose is required six months after the administration of the first dose. The frontline workers took the vaccine starting from January 16 and many have completed six months.
