Bengaluru: KPCC president DK Shivakumar launched Operation Hasta in the RR Nagar constituency to ensure the election of the Congress Candidate Kusuma Ravi. JDS RR Nagar assembly constituency president Bettegowda and others joined the Congress.
This has put the BJP candidate for the RR Nagar constituency, Muniratna on the back foot.
RR Nagar is a Vokkaliga dominated constituency. However, Muniratna won twice because of DK Shivakumar and DK Suresh. Now the brothers wanted to teach a lesson to Muniratna.
Operation Hasta is designed to help the Congress to consolidate Vokkaliga votes in the constituency. The party is now eyeing an easy win against Muniratna, a turncoat.
It may be recalled that the BJP is a divided house in this constituency with a majority of leaders keeping away from the campaign.
