Bengaluru: Reacting to the Central government’s move to remove the All India Handicrafts and Handloom Board, former chief minister and Congress Legislative Party leader Siddaramaiah lamented that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government’s Athmanirbhar mask has fallen.
Taking to Twitter, the Congress leader said that the Central Government, which talks about being “Athmanirbhar”, is now killing local industries.
The Board, which was a bridge between the Government and the weavers and handlooms, has been dissolved and this is a big loss to the country’s traditional industry, Siddaramaiah added.
