Bengaluru: Minister of Mines and Geology Murugesh Nirani announced on Sunday April 11 that the state government’s ambitious free sand policy aimed at helping the poor to build houses at low cost will be released by the end of this month.

He also added that one of the important features of the new sand policy was to supply sand to the poor at Rs 100 per tonne if the cost of the construction of their houses was within Rs 10 lac.
