Bengaluru: The state government will take a final decision on re-opening schools, today after a high-level meeting scheduled at 12 noon.
CM BS Yediyurappa will chair the meeting.
According to the sources, the state government is planning to restart the schools in a phased manner. Initially it wants to restart classes IX to XII on optional basis.
It can be recalled that the final year diploma, Under Graduate and Post Graduate classes are started across the state on November 17, but the students are not turning up in good number in any part of the state. Instead a majority of students are still preferring online classes.
The meeting will be attended by officials from the education, health and medical education department who will discuss the pros and cons of the re-opening schools.
The schools are shut across the state since March 23 due to the Covid 19 scare.
