Six Karnataka cabinet ministers want restraint on publication of defamatory content

Bengaluru: To restrain media from publishing/airing/printing defamatory content against them, six cabinet ministers have moved a city civil court.

The move comes after a complaint after Water Resources minister, Ramesh Jarkiholi resigned from his post after a video accusing him of demanding sexual favours surfaced and was aired on Kannada news channels.

As per reports, some individuals have filed the request on behalf of these ministers.

on the website of a city civil court. a cause list has been uploaded mentioning the six cabinet ministers— K Sudhakar, HT Somashekhar, Byrathi Basavaraj, Shivaram Hebbar, BC Patil, and Narayan Gowda.

It should be noted that all six minsters left Congress to join BJP in 2019. The matter for orders will be taken up by an additional civil magistrate on February 7.
