Bengaluru: The state government has appointed P Ravi Kumar, a 1984 batch IAS officer as the new chief secretary, on December 30.
He will succeed TM Vijaya Bhaskar who is retiring on Thursday, Dec 31 and is expected to take charge on December 31 as the 38th Chief Secretary of the state.
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa signed an order in this regard on Wednesday.
Vijaya Bhaskar served as the Chief Secretary for the last two years.
Presently, Ravi Kumar is serving as the additional chief secretary (ACS). He had earlier served as Yediyurappa’s ACS.
He is the senior-most IAS officer next to Vijaya Bhaskar.
