Bengaluru: The state government formed an administrative reforms committee to streamline the governance system. The idea is bringing down administrative expenses and to create ease in governance.
Former Chief Secretary TM Vijaya Bhaskar has been appointed as the head of this committee.
According to the sources, the government wants to reduce the number of posts in the departments and strengthen governance. This committee is expected to finalise the government policy on the various issues like new cader and recruitment rules, promotions, outsourcing etc.
Presently over 2 lakh government posts are vacant in the state. The state government wants to cancel them permanently. Earlier the government had formed a committee under the chairmanship of revenue minister R Ashok to submit a report on the merger of various departments.
