Bantwal: Tragic death of 4th-grade student during play

Bantwal: A heart-wrenching incident occurred in Madala near Budoli in Peraje village, where a young girl lost her life in a freak accident while playing at home on December 8.

Incident Details

The victim, identified as Tirthakshi, a 4th-grade student at Shera School, was playing alone in a room at her home when the tragedy unfolded. She was found with a rope wrapped around her neck and was unresponsive by the time she was rushed to the hospital.

Vitla Circle Inspector Nagaraj stated that Tirthakshi was known for her adventurous nature, often engaging in activities like climbing and jumping, which may have led her to accidentally tie the rope around her neck while playing. Though initial speculations pointed to suicide, the family has firmly dismissed this possibility, stating she showed no such tendencies.

Police Investigation

The Vitla police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Authorities have also visited the site to gather more evidence and verify the sequence of events.

This unfortunate accident has left the local community in deep shock, highlighting the importance of adult supervision to ensure the safety of young children during playtime.
