Belagavi: Making a strong statement against the Uttar Pradesh Government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, KPCC President D K Shivakumar said that the former’s rule has brought disgrace upon India and humanity.
Addressing the media on Friday before inaugurating the new Congress office here, he said that CM Yogi has become a ‘disease’ for society and humanity.
He was referring to the brutal rape of a Dalit girl in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh who later succumbed to her injuries at a hospital.
Stating that this is not about the issue or any particular girl or a Dalit girl, but an issue of the dignity of women, he said, “The Yogi government has shamed humanity. I have no words to describe his misrule.”
Speaking about the complaints that the government is not giving adequate compensation to the flood-affected, Shivakumar questioned, “What is the use of having so many BJP MPs and a BJP government in the state and Centre if they get enough funds to the flood victims?”
He then warned the BJP that the people of the state and Belagavi district will teach them a lesson in the coming days.
