Bengaluru bans drones, balloons, and paragliders for Aero India 2025
The Karnataka government has prohibited the use of drones, paragliders, and balloons in Bengaluru between February 10 and 14, 2025, coinciding with the Aero India 2025 event. This move, issued under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhitam (BNSS) Act by Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda, aims to prevent potential security risks, including unauthorized surveillance or attacks.
Aero India 2025, Asia’s premier aerospace exhibition, will take place at Yelahanka Air Force Station. The five-day event showcases India’s advancements in military aircraft, helicopters, and avionics. Themed “Runway to a Billion Opportunities,” the first three days (February 10–12) will focus on business engagements, while February 13 and 14 will be open to the public, featuring thrilling air shows and exhibitions.
To manage the influx of visitors, Bengaluru traffic police have issued guidelines. Attendees must display parking passes on their windshields for entry and follow routes specified via QR codes on their tickets. Any deviations from these designated paths will not be permitted.
This biennial show highlights India’s progress in aerospace and defense technology, offering a platform for military and civilian aircraft manufacturers to demonstrate their capabilities. With top aerospace companies participating, Aero India 2025 is expected to be a significant global event.
