
Bengaluru hotel owner arrested for assaulting chef over order mistake
Bengaluru police have apprehended a 35-year-old man for allegedly attacking a chef at his restaurant in RT Nagar. The incident gained widespread attention after a post about the assault went viral on X.
The accused, identified as Ali, runs a Donne Biryani outlet in north Bengaluru. The victim, 34-year-old Gurumurthy, worked as a chef and also handled online order packaging.
According to police, the altercation began when Gurumurthy forgot to include a beverage in an order, prompting a customer complaint. When Ali confronted him, the argument intensified, and Ali allegedly struck Gurumurthy multiple times on the head with a walking stick, leaving him injured and bleeding.
Following a police complaint, authorities registered an assault case and arrested Ali on Friday.
