Bengaluru Malls Drape Themselves in Tricolour for Independence Day
In celebration of the 78th Independence Day, malls across Bengaluru are showcasing vibrant patriotic displays. Orion Mall in Rajajinagar features a striking installation of a woman draped in a sari inspired by the national flag colors, with a large circle resembling the Indian flag, becoming a popular selfie spot. Meanwhile, Orion Avenue Mall in Banaswadi has an impressive display of a fist holding the national flag, set against the Ashoka Chakra, with the message “Nation First, Always First.”
Sunil Munshi, senior vice-president of Brigade Group, highlighted that these installations honor the nation’s heritage and freedom fighters. The positive response has led to an expected footfall of over 80,000 patrons per day during the extended Independence Day weekend.
Lulu Mall has embraced the patriotic theme with grand tricoloured blocks and a planned musical extravaganza and flash mob. Phoenix Mall of Asia and Phoenix Marketcity are set to transform into vibrant patriotic havens with tricolour lighting and decor. Ritu Mehta, centre director of Phoenix Mall of Asia, mentioned that the decor will provide a lively backdrop for celebrations, offering visitors a chance to enjoy diverse culinary delights, shopping, and entertainment.
