Bengaluru to Face Planned Power Disruptions Till May 31

Multiple localities across Bengaluru are set to experience scheduled electricity disruptions over the coming days, as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) proceeds with maintenance operations and infrastructure upgrades.
Why the Outages?
BESCOM stated that the service interruptions are due to ongoing underground electric cable installations in Hosakote and road expansion works in Vijayapura. Power will be unavailable between 10 AM and 6 PM in several sectors of the city.
May 30:
- Hosakote Areas: Hindu Cemetery Zone, Kannur Halli Road, Somasunder Layout, Annapoorneshwari Nagar, Milan Kalyana Mantapa vicinity
- Vijayapura: Continued blackouts from 10 AM to 5 PM
May 31:
- Hosakote Zone: Telephone Exchange area, Court vicinity, Ayyappaswamy Temple region, Degree College Road, Majjige Kunti, Kathmandu Layout, Thyagaraja Layout, Doddagattigana Road, Nandashree Area, and nearby neighborhoods
Power outages were also recorded on May 15, 18, and 19, as BESCOM carried out periodic repair and upgrade efforts.
Tips for Residents
- Fully charge essential gadgets beforehand
- Avoid elevator use during power cuts
- Reschedule remote work or business plans accordingly
In the event of unplanned outages, citizens can notify BESCOM through the BESCOM Mithra app.
