Bengaluru Woman Allegedly Raped by Man Met Online in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A 29-year-old software employee from Bengaluru has reported a disturbing incident in Hyderabad, claiming she was raped by a man she met on social media. The alleged assault occurred at a private consultancy in Vengalrao Nagar, where the accused had promised to help her find a job.
The victim, who had recently lost her job in Bengaluru, was actively seeking employment online when she connected with the accused. He persuaded her to relocate to Hyderabad by offering job prospects and assistance with her resume. Trusting his promises, the married technology expert moved to the city.
Upon arriving, the victim was lured to the consultancy office by the accused, where he allegedly raped her. The assault reportedly took place in June, and the woman filed a complaint with the Borabanda police several days ago.
There are rumors suggesting a possible connection between the accused and the consultancy. Despite the gravity of the situation, the police reported that the victim had not provided a formal statement, possibly due to apprehension about the potential fallout or personal reasons.
The case highlights significant concerns about safety and trust when interacting with people met online, especially in unfamiliar cities.
