Bengaluru YouTuber issues open threat declaring himself a ‘big rowdy,’ arrested
Bengaluru Police arrested popular YouTuber Deepak Gadhigappa on Monday after he issued an open threat to another vlogger in a video that went viral. Known for his moto vlogs, Gadhigappa declared himself a “big rowdy” in the city and warned his online rival of severe consequences.
The Incident
In the viral video, Gadhigappa can be seen challenging another YouTuber, stating, “You think rowdies in Bengaluru stay at Hoskote? They stay in Whitefield. There is no bigger rowdy than me in the city. You can send your people here.” He also claimed to be the son of a government minister, which further inflamed public concern.
The confrontation quickly gained widespread attention after multiple social media users reposted the video, tagging Bengaluru police and demanding immediate action. One user wrote, “Dear @BlrCityPolice, This guy is openly threatening someone on social media. Such sociopaths create an atmosphere of fear in society. Arrest him immediately and investigate him.”
Police Response and Arrest
Reacting swiftly to public outrage, the Bengaluru Police arrested Gadhigappa, announcing the arrest through a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Whitefield Division, confirmed the action, saying, “A person named Deepak, who created a safety scare among the public by posting a video on social media, was found, arrested, and a case was registered at the Kadugodi police station.”

Bengaluru Police also issued a stern warning to other vloggers and social media influencers about the legal consequences of spreading hate online. They emphasised that the city values kindness over cruelty and that such behaviour would not be tolerated.
Public Reactions
The incident sparked heated discussions across social media platforms, with users criticising the influencer culture that promotes reckless behaviour for views and engagement. A user wrote, “These are the people you worship? When your favourite influencer can’t even grasp that they’re pushing too far and heading for trouble, I can only imagine the brilliance behind the blind followers fighting amongst each other.”
The arrest has raised questions about the responsibilities of content creators and the impact of online behaviour on public safety. Many users have called for better regulation of content on platforms like YouTube to prevent harmful trends that encourage violence and intimidation.
Conclusion
Deepak Gadhigappa’s arrest highlights the growing influence of social media and the need for accountability among content creators. As online platforms become central to public discourse, Bengaluru Police’s actions demonstrate that threatening behaviour will not be tolerated, and legal consequences will follow.
