The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) conducted a series of enforcement drives from November 17 to 23, focusing on various traffic violations.

Over the week, the police registered 5,929 violations across 34 categories, including no-entry breaches, riding without helmets, and pillion riders without helmets. These enforcement efforts led to fines amounting to ₹66.46 lakh, encompassing 9,912 cases—5,929 from the drive and 3,983 pending violations.

On November 23 alone, 626 violations were recorded, ranging from driving against one-way traffic and improper parking to riding on footpaths and triple riding. That day’s enforcement alone yielded ₹3.13 lakh in fines.

In addition to general violations, the BTP conducted specialized checks on drunk driving and overspeeding between November 18 and 24. Out of 60,692 vehicles inspected, 802 drunk driving cases were identified. For 128 overspeeding violations, fines totaling ₹1.28 lakh were imposed.

These operations reflect the BTP’s commitment to improving road safety and enforcing traffic laws. Officials are urging motorists to comply with regulations to ensure safer roads for all.
