Private hospitals should reserve 50% beds for Covid patients: DC

Vijayapura: Due to the surge in covid cases in the district, Deputy Commissioner, P. Sunil Kumar has directed the private hospitals to reserve 50% beds for Covid patients.

During a video conference with the health officials on Covid situation, he said that the private and government hospitals must utilize the portal developed by the administration on bed management and upload the details of the availability of beds in it.

With respect to the demand for the Remdesivir for covid patients, he said that the pharmaceutical companies should submit a copy of demand placed for this medicine to suppliers and to the assistant drug control office here.
Sunil Kumar said, “The pharmacists should keep in touch with the divisional nodal officers appointed for the purpose of monitoring the supply of Remdesivir.”

He made it clear that the district is not facing any shortage of oxygen so far and further directed the health official to hold regular meetings to monitor the situation of oxygen availability.

ZP CEO, Govind Reddy, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kalasad, and officials of the health department were present in the meeting.
