Vijayapura: Two abandoned leopard cubs were found in a sugarcane farm in the Jainapur village of the Babaleshwar taluk. The cubs were found on the farm belonging to one Prashant Desasi.
It may be noted that, over the past few months, leopard sightings have been on the rise and in May, a male leopard was caught by forest officials.
Now, with farmers discovering two cubs in his field, it is believed that the cubs belong to the female partner of the leopard that was caught in May. However, the mother of the cubs has not yet been found.
Meanwhile, the farmer (Prashant) has handed over the cubs to the forest officials, who are on the lookout for the mother.
