BJP Targets Rahul Gandhi Amid Outrage Over Pahalgam Terror Attack
In the wake of the horrific terror strike in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives and left 12 wounded, the Karnataka BJP has criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, suggesting a pattern between his foreign visits and domestic tragedies.
The BJP’s Karnataka unit posted on X (formerly Twitter):
“Every time @RahulGandhi leaves the country, something sinister unfolds back home.”
The remark alludes to Rahul Gandhi’s current US visit, where he’s scheduled to speak at Brown University. The BJP’s jibe arrives as India reels from the Baisaran meadow attack—an idyllic tourist spot often dubbed “mini Switzerland” now stained by violence.
In response, Gandhi posted on X, saying he had spoken with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, J&K CM Omar Abdullah, and J&K Congress Chief Tariq Karra.
“The families of victims deserve justice and our fullest support,” he wrote.
The incident has triggered swift actions: Prime Minister Modi cut short his Saudi visit, and Amit Shah rushed to Kashmir. Three suspected attackers—Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha—have been identified by intelligence agencies, reportedly operating under code names Moosa, Yunus, and Asif.
Internationally, US President Donald Trump extended condolences and assured India of America’s full support.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi confirmed that three victims hailed from Karnataka, making the tragedy all the more personal for the southern state.
