
BMTC Launches New Express Services & Spiritual Tour Packages from Bengaluru
Bengaluru: Beginning Saturday, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will operate express bus services on major routes with minimal halts. Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy inaugurated the new initiative on Friday.
A total of 48 express buses will ply across Bengaluru, completing 348 trips daily. Commuters can avail a monthly travel pass priced at Rs 1,500, which allows access to express, ordinary, and NICE Road ordinary buses (excluding premium services). Toll charges must be borne by the commuter where applicable. For Vajra and Vajra Express buses, a flat fare of Rs 30 per trip is applicable.
Spiritual Tour Service
BMTC is also rolling out a new spiritual package tour covering prominent temples and religious sites near Bengaluru, beginning this weekend. The air-conditioned bus departs from Majestic at 9 a.m. and returns by 9 p.m., covering destinations like:

The fare is Rs 600, inclusive of tolls. Two additional pickup points have been added: Banashankari TTMC (Rs 700) and Silk Board Junction (Rs 750).
This tour has already attracted over 50,000 passengers in the past year.
Employee Welfare
The minister handed over Rs 1.5 crore cheques to families of three employees who died in accidents. Nine other families received Rs 10 lakh each under BMTC’s group insurance plan. Twelve employees were also honored for promoting UPI-based ticketing, now making up half of all ticket revenue.
