BSF detains Pakistani Ranger in Rajasthan amid border tensions

A Pakistani Ranger has been captured by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) along the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan, according to official sources on Saturday.

This incident follows the recent detention of BSF personnel Purnam Kumar Shaw by Pakistani Rangers on April 23 near the Punjab border. Despite India’s formal protest, Pakistan has yet to release him.

Tensions between the two nations have intensified after a deadly terrorist assault in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, claimed 26 lives—mostly tourists.

The detained Pakistani Ranger is currently under the custody of the BSF’s Rajasthan sector. Authorities are yet to release further details about the circumstances of the capture or any ongoing negotiations.

The standoff highlights the fragile nature of relations along the border, with both sides accusing each other of escalations and violations.
