Bengaluru: Karnataka government on Monday renewed a 2016 agreement with the Netherlands for collaboration in the fields of health, cybersecurity, agri-tech and peace and justice.

“Parties of today’s cooperation shall further grow our mutually beneficial relationship in the fields of health, cybersecurity, agri-tech and peace and justice as we move forward,” said the director of the department of IT, BT (Biotechnology) and S&T (Science and Technology) Prashant Kumar Mishra.

The agreement was signed at the Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2019, in the presence of Saskia Bruines, the deputy mayor of The Hague, the Dutch city famous for the International Court of Justice.

“The Hague believes in close international cooperation between governments, science and industry. We are fortunate to have such close cooperation: top universities, tech hubs, economic top sectors, including Indian companies like HCL and Tech Mahindra,” said Bruines.

At the event, Indian companies JK Technosoft and eMuhdra announced opening their offices in the Netherlands.

JK Technosoft, part of the JK Group said it opened its European headquarters at The Hague while eMudhra said it recently set up its office in the same city.

The renewed agreement, first signed during the IT BIZ summit in 2016, will also identify partnerships for technological innovation, startup exchange and nurturing talents between the countries.
