Mangaluru: Vaccination drive for all bank employees were held at MCC Bank Administrative Building on Saturday June 12.

Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Premanand Shetty and Deputy District Health officer Dr Rajesh were the guest of the event. Mayor Shetty addressing the gathering lauded the organisers for holding such a needful drive.

Addressing the gathering Mayor said that, “Banks are considered as one of essential sectors and the employees are warriors rendering their services to the people.”

Dr Rajesh said that Covid – 19 vaccination is one of the largest vaccination drives in world. “Taking vaccine will help us to remain safe and will help us to fight against the pandemic.”

He further explained the benefits of taking vaccine and urged the people to remain positive. “Small pox was eradicated in the same way. Let us fight to eradicate Covid – 19 together,” he added.

Raj Menezes, Deputy General Manager of MCC Bank Ltd, received the first shot of the drive. Medical officers Dr. Soujanya and Dr. Raihan, staff nurses Sunitha and Shashikala, and pharmacists Shobha Asha and Safnaz comprised the medical team.

Anil lobo Chairman MCC Bank Ltd, Harish Acharya Chairman Vishwakarma Co -operative Bank, Praveen Kumar, lead Bank in-charge, Chitharanjan, President of Athma Shakthi Multi Purpose Co-Operative Ltd were present during the occasion. Covishield vaccine was given to about 400 employees of several banks and cooperative societies.
