Mangalore Bar Association to celebrate Golden Jubilee of Keshavananda Bharati Judgement

Mangaluru: The Mangalore Bar Association (R) is set to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the landmark Keshavananda Bharati Judgement with a series of events, culminating in a special lecture on the growth of Indian constitutional jurisprudence.

The Organizing Committee is pleased to extend a cordial invitation to the public for the celebratory gathering at the SDM Law College Auditorium in Mangalore on 9th December 2023, starting at 9:30 AM.

His Excellency, P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, the Hon’ble Governor of the State of Goa would be the Chief Guest for the occasion. The governor will also deliver a lecture on the significance of the Keshavananda Bharati Judgement.

The lighting of the lamp will be conducted by Sri Sri Sri Sachidananda Bharati Swamiji of Edneer Math. Other distinguished guests include N. Vinay Hegde, the Chancellor of Nitte Deemed to be University, and Dr. Satheeshchandra S., Secretary of SDME Society (R) Ujjire.

Presiding over the ceremony would be K. Prithviraj Rai, the President of the Mangalore Bar Association. The special lecture aims to delve into the legal implications and historical significance of the Keshavananda Bharati Judgement, a pivotal decision that has influenced constitutional law in India for the past fifty years.

The Organizing Committee, led by President K. Prithviraj Rai, along with M. Narayana Bhat, President of the Golden Jubilee Committee, and Dr. Tharanatha, Principal of SDM Law College Mangalore, extend their warm invitation to all interested individuals.
