Mangaluru: The inaugural function of the week-long Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Research Methodology on “Unraveling the Research Domain”, organized by the Post Graduate Department of Business Administration, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), AIMIT, was held on Monday, August 6.
The FDP Program was aimed at helping research scholars, academicians and industrialists to define research problems and develop the suitable methodology for addressing crucial challenges.
The inaugural function commenced with a soulful invocation to the Almighty led by Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, Director AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Autonomous). It involved the rendering of melodious bhajans and readings from Tagore’s Gitanjali. This was followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. Dr Rowena Wright, Dean (Academics) welcomed the gathering.
In his keynote address, the chief guest and principal of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Fr Dr Praveen Martis SJ highlighted the need for creation of academic enlightenment through research. He stressed the need for passionate engagement to create new knowledge.
Fr Dr Martis also gave the audience the magic mantra of 3 D’s, 3 P’s and 3 E’s i.e. Desire, Dream, Determination; Passion, Patience, Perseverance; and Engage, Evolve, Enlighten to aid in their research pursuits.
The week-long FDP programme witnessed the attendance of diverse research scholars from Karnataka and beyond.
