CCTV Footage Captures Dogs Chasing Suspected Leopard, Locals on Alert

Concern arose among locals near Paaneeru Children’s Ashram after CCTV footage showed dogs chasing what appeared to be a leopard. The incident came to light when an out-of-state laborer spotted a large animal along the roadside and promptly informed residents.

The sighting reportedly occurred around 9:30 pm on Sunday near the compound wall of Allwyn D’Souza’s residence. On Monday, residents reviewed the CCTV footage from the ashram, which captured a leopard-like animal being pursued by a group of dogs.

Alarmed by the video, the ashram’s in-charge, with local assistance, circulated a voice message to warn the community. Local forest officer Mahabal arrived to inspect the area and advised residents, stating that while the footage shows an animal, it’s unclear if it is indeed a leopard. He reassured locals that precautionary measures would be implemented.
