Chamraj Nagar: The 22 family members out of 24 Covid infected who had an unfortunate end allegedly due to lack of liquid oxygen at Chamarajanagar District Hospital have been compensated with Rs 2 lakh each through RTGS, said Deputy Commissioner Dr. M. R. Ravi.
As per the directions of the High Court of Karnataka and as per the orders of the State government, the 22 Covid victims’ family so far have been given the compensation. The family members or legal heirs of the other two deceased persons are from Bangalore district. A letter has been sent to the Bengaluru Deputy Commissioner seeking the details and documents of the family members or legal heirs. Once DC sent the report, the compensation will be duly credited to the said heirs, he added.
Further, Ravi informed that reports have been submitted to the Advocate General of the High Court and the State Government regarding compensation provided to the heirs of 22 deceased Covid-infected persons.
