Class 10 student dies of heart attack in school
A 16-year-old Class 10 student collapsed and died of a heart attack just outside her school in Telangana’s Kamareddy district on Thursday morning.
Sri Nidhi, originally from Singarayapalli village in Ramareddy mandal, had moved to Kamareddy to pursue her education at a private school. As she neared the school, she experienced severe chest pain and fell unconscious.
A teacher noticed her in distress and rushed her to a hospital, where doctors administered CPR and other emergency treatments. However, as she showed no response, she was transferred to another hospital, where doctors confirmed her death due to cardiac arrest.
Her sudden passing has left her teachers and classmates devastated. Many students expressed shock over how someone so young could suffer a fatal heart attack. Her remains have been sent to her hometown for final rites.
Sri Nidhi’s tragic demise is part of a worrying trend. A few months ago, 14-year-old Mohit Chaudhary from Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district suffered a fatal heart attack while preparing for a school sports event. Days later, eight-year-old Diksha from the same region collapsed and died while playing with friends.
Professor M Rabbani from Aligarh Muslim University noted a 22% rise in cardiac arrest cases over two decades, stressing the importance of immediate medical attention for children experiencing chest pain or breathlessness.
